1. The Ant and the Grasshopper:

During a beautiful summer, a grasshopper spent his days singing and dancing, enjoying the sunshine. Meanwhile, the ants were busy gathering food and storing it for the winter. The grasshopper laughed at their hard work, saying, "Why work so hard when you can enjoy the present?"

When winter arrived, the grasshopper found himself cold and hungry, with no food to eat. He went to the ants, begging for help. The ants replied, "What were you doing all summer while we were working?" The grasshopper had no answer.

Moral: It's wise to prepare for the future, even when times are good.

2. The Bundle of Sticks:

An old man had several sons who were always quarreling with each other. He tried to advise them, but they wouldn't listen. One day, he called them together and gave them a bundle of sticks. He asked each of them to break the bundle. None of them could.

Then, he untied the bundle and gave each son a single stick. He asked them to break the individual sticks, which they did easily.

"My sons," the old man said, "as long as you are united, you are strong. But if you are divided, you will be easily broken."

Moral: Unity is strength.

3. The Milkmaid and Her Pail:

A milkmaid was carrying a pail of milk on her head to the market. As she walked, she began to dream of all the things she would buy with the money she would earn. "I'll buy some chickens," she thought, "and they'll lay eggs, and I'll sell those eggs for more money. Then I'll buy a beautiful dress."

She became so excited that she tossed her head, and the pail fell to the ground, spilling all the milk. Her dreams were shattered.

Moral: Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

4. The Shepherd Boy and the Lost Sheep:

A shepherd boy was tending his flock when one sheep wandered away. He searched and searched, but couldn't find it. He felt guilty and worried.

Finally, he found the sheep caught in a thorny bush. He carefully freed the sheep and carried it back to the flock. He realized that even though the sheep had strayed, he still cared for it and was relieved to have found it.

Moral: Everyone makes mistakes, and forgiveness and care are important.

5. The Stonecutter:

A stonecutter was unhappy with his lot in life. He wished he were rich, and suddenly, his wish was granted. But then, he saw a powerful prince being carried in a litter and wished he were a prince. His wish was granted.

Then, he saw the sun shining brightly and wished he were the sun. His wish was granted. But then, clouds covered the sun, and he wished he were the clouds. His wish was granted.

Then, he saw a great rock standing firm and wished he were the rock. His wish was granted. But then, he felt a hammer striking him and heard a voice saying, "I need a rock to carve." He realized he was happier as a stonecutter.

Moral: Be content with what you have.
